Evaluation of the Deep Vein System

The deep vein system consists of the major veins in the legs and is critical for detecting deep vein thrombosis (DVT).

Procedure Duration :

10 - 15 min

The deep venous system consists of the major veins in the legs and is critical in terms of blood clots (DVT). Using Color Doppler Ultrasound, detailed assessment of the deep veins is performed, including the detection of clots, blood flow disturbances, vein wall changes, and valve functions. This examination is indicated when there is sudden leg swelling, pain, bruising, increased warmth, complaints after travel, or suspicion of DVT following prolonged immobility.

The procedure is completely painless and takes about 10–15 minutes. Early detection of problems in the deep veins is vital to prevent serious complications such as pulmonary embolism.

What Symptoms Indicate Deep Vein Problems?

Problems in the deep venous system typically present with:

  • Sudden onset of leg swelling
  • Pain and tenderness in one leg
  • Increased warmth and redness of the leg
  • Skin color changes
  • Pain that worsens with walking
  • Persistent feeling of fullness or tightness

To identify the cause and obtain an accurate diagnosis of deep vein problems, a Color Doppler evaluation of the deep veins can be performed. For appointments and information, you can contact us.

Evaluation of the deep venous system is performed using Color Doppler Ultrasound, assessing vein patency, blood flow, and valve function. If a clot, narrowing, or flow disturbance is detected, treatment options such as medication, interventional procedures, or advanced therapies are planned. The treatment approach is personalized based on the findings.

  • Enables early detection of deep vein thrombosis (DVT)
  • Helps identify life-threatening conditions in time
  • Ensures safe and accurate treatment planning
  • Radiation-free and safe diagnostic method
  • Guides the treatment and follow-up process

This examination is diagnostic, and no rest is required afterward. Patients can return to their daily activities immediately after evaluation. Follow-up Color Doppler ultrasounds may be scheduled at regular intervals depending on the findings.

  • Individuals with sudden leg swelling and pain
  • Patients suspected of having deep vein thrombosis
  • Those with a previous history of clots
  • Individuals at risk or who have been immobile for long periods

This procedure can be safely applied to all age groups under the doctor’s recommendation.
